What you’ll be doing (and who with)

At Avantio we run on microservices in containers, with most of our backend in Node.js and our frontend in React. You might also bump into some Angular apps (and yes, a little legacy jQuery still hanging around).

We use CI/CD pipelines to deploy to Kubernetes, and we care about clean, scalable code that follows best practices, without losing sight of product delivery.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will:

- Be a driving force in our tech transformation.

- Take our products further from the frontend side.

- Mentor, share ideas, and spark improvements across teams.

You’ll join our VRMS team, the beating heart of Avantio, driving features like property setup, business rules and booking management. You’ll help modernise our core product and quickly gain a 360º view of the platform.

How you’ll make an impact:

You’ll be responsible for a React component library, integrated into a monolith via Web Components.

• Analyse, estimate and implement new features proposed by Product.
• Write clean, consistent, scalable and well-structured code.
• Improve existing components for better scalability and performance.
• Join brainstorms to explore new ideas and raise product quality.
• Research new technologies and methodologies.
• Add value by supporting your teammates and fostering a culture where knowledge flows freely.

What are we looking for?

• A Senior profile experienced in an environment like ours, where quality is at the heart of every delivery.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, especially with React.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Mastery of modern CSS methodologies.
• Familiarity with agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Extensive experience with PostCSS, SCSS or SASS.
• A keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset.
• Hands-on experience with state management patterns like Redux.
• With experience with WebComponents or similar.

It will be a plus:

• Experience with other frameworks: Angular.
• Experience developing software in microservice-oriented architectures.
• Experience working with complex animations, whether CSS or JavaScript.
• Experience with frontend component libraries.
• We work with Figma and Supernova; it's not complicated, but if you already know them, that's a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker.
